Snyder & Company is located in Lancaster, Ohio which is an AWESOME place to be! We are 30 minutes southeast of Columbus and all its big city action, yet part of a vibrant, close knit community. We have a long standing tradition and reputation of exceptional service to our clients and community. We have been a completely paperless office for over 6 years, and ditched our time sheets over 10 years ago! We use GoFileRoom, UltraTax and Thompson Reuters tax research systems and are always innovating.

We are looking for our next great CPA/Accountant to help us continue our growth.  Relevant public accounting & tax experience is a must, five years or more is a plus. You are that next person if you:

In this critical position you will:

  • prepare and review work papers, income tax returns (corporate, partnerships, non-profit and individuals). We are growing our estate/trust and business valuations niches, experience or interest in these areas is a plus

  • prepare and review financial statements (compilation and review levels - we do not audit)

  • prepare tax planning, tax strategy & tax research

  • apply strong technical skills and problem solving with client work

  • be the primary manager for client work once you are trained in our processes

  • oversee and manage engagements, prioritize tasks and supervise/motivate staff

  • build relationships with clients and community contacts and contribute to the ongoing development efforts of the firm

  • assist in training and mentoring other team members

  • possess critical thinking and research skills to determine conclusions and recommendations

  • develop your supervisory and management skills with the expectation that within one year, you will lead and manage a team of accountants

  • develop the ability to identify and propose resolutions to income tax and other issues clients will have

Qualifications:

  • Licensed CPA (or CPA candidate with experience)

  • Analytical skills and judgement

  • Experience with client interaction demonstrated business development skills

  • Good written and verbal communication and documentation skills

  • Proven financial, analytical, technical and interpersonal skills

  • Good attention to detail

  • Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced and complex environment

  • Self-motivated, positive attitude and ability to work in teams

  • Experience with QuickBooks and UltraTax software is a plus

Salary

  • Based on relative experience, best estimate is $65,000 to $80,000

  • Public Accounting: 5+ years (Preferred)

Education

  • Bachelor's (Required)

License

  • CPA (Preferred)
